There are many types of Quilling Tools available today and as every quiller knows, each type or style tool serves a particular purpose. That is why most quillers have an assortment of tools.  Here for the discriminating quiller or paper artist are several different quilling tools that I highly recommend for any quiller, beginner or advanced. These slotted ones are a real must have if you find toothpicks too cumbersome, needle tools too fiddley, and finger rolling a bit challenging. Both the slotted and non-slotted tools come in handy for very specific techniques and are therefore often sold as a set but I am offering them here separately.
SLOTTED:   A slotted tool is often the tool of 1st choice for a beginner as it is slightly easier to learn on. Once you have mastered the basic technique of the rolling many quillers like to move on to the Needle tool. Both of these Ultra tools are created to leave the smallest center hole in the quilled shape. The 5 inch long wood handle is lightweight and comfortable in the hand. The bottom of the wood handles on these are nicely rounded and smooth, making them perfect for pushing out tight rolled shapes into dimensional tight grape rolls. It also makes them useful for use as a molding tool when using to shape punched out pieces for floral punch art. The Paplins slotted tool has an approximately 3/8 inch slotted needle section mounted at the top of the wood handle. The slot on this brand in deeper than most other tools and that means it will accommodate quilling paper that is up to 3/8 inch wide. This means easier handling for those of you who like to make folded roses or who specialize in the wider papers or for making wider fringe flowers.
NEEDLE: The Needle tool is identical to the slotted one except it has NO slot in the tip. It also leaves a ultra tiny hole in the center.
METAL:The All metal tool is also perfect for beginner and advanced quiller alike. Not fancy but it does get the job done. Especially useful for making quilled roses. This tool is styled to make rolling the paper easier. The slot in the end holds the paper in place while you roll the tool and align the paper. The shaft on this tool is 2 1/8 inches long and the tip for the slotted section is 3/8 inch. Even though this is metal it is lightweight and comfortable in the hand. Many long time quillers are partial to this particular style of tool.
EASY GRIP NEW…..Easy Grip Slotted Tool has an ultra fine slot and a rubber coated handle for a sure grip.
BEAD AND DISC..NEW..: This is s brand new type of quilling tool that includes a Bead for making Roses and a plastic disc for making Tight Rolls that come out even and straight. The metal shaft is hollow (slot on one side ONLY) and forms a base that a folded rose can easily be shaped around.  Also excellent for making paper rolled beads. The all wood handle is the same as on the Paplin slotted and needle tools.
NEW Double Ended Tool: This new tool from Paplins combines all the elements most desired in one tool. This 5 1/2″ tool has a very tiny 1/16″ slot on one end and a needle tool on the other. The comfort grip padded handle allows hours of quilling without hand fatigue.
